A Letter from the Assistant Rector and a Letter from the Rector

A Letter from the Assistant Rector

Dear People of St. Paul’s:

I am writing to share the bittersweet news that I have been called to serve as the next Rector of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Beach Haven, New Jersey.

I am so grateful for my journey in ministry here at St. Paul’s. When I joined St. Paul’s as a parishioner many years ago, I was looking for a place where my family and I could find community and rejoice in God. I found that and so much more. St. Paul’s was where I discerned God’s call to ordained ministry, and it has been my honor and privilege to serve as a member of St. Paul’s clergy team for the past three years.

I am so proud of the service the people of St. Paul’s provide to our community. I have seen the ways in which, in the face of need in our world, the people of St. Paul’s have quickly and enthusiastically provided support. I have seen the way the Holy Spirit is at work at St. Paul’s, and in its gifted, dedicated members. I have extraordinary confidence that God will continue to call you to care for this  world, and for one another. I also have extraordinary confidence that the experienced clergy and lay leaders of this parish will ensure a smooth transition of my duties.

My final Sunday at St. Paul’s will be Sunday, January 11. After that day, I will no longer be a priest of St. Paul’s. As is the practice in our tradition, know that I keep you in prayer, but I will not be able to maintain pastoral or other contact with you for a period of time. This will allow me to connect with my new community, and give St. Paul’s space to transition.

I would like to thank Noah for helping me grow in my ministry, and for providing me the opportunity to learn so much about caring for a church community as its priest. I have had unique opportunities to serve at St. Paul’s, and I am incredibly grateful for his guidance and leadership. I will carry these lessons into the next chapter of my ministry at Holy Innocents’, and far beyond.

Thank you,
Erin

A Letter from the Rector

Dear Friends:

It is with both joy and sadness that I share the news that the Reverend Erin Morey has been called to serve as the next Rector of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Beach Haven, New Jersey. I am excited for Erin as she will be returning home to New Jersey, where she grew up, to begin this next chapter of her ministry and life.

Over the years at St. Paul’s, Erin has served our parish faithfully and with great love, in a variety of roles, from a lay professional to joining the clergy team after ordination. Her gifts of pastoral care, preaching, teaching, and leadership have deeply blessed us, and her ministry has strengthened the fabric of our community in countless ways.

While we will miss her daily presence among us, we rejoice that she has been called to this new opportunity to lead a congregation and continue to share her gifts in the wider Church. Erin’s call is also a testament to the health and vitality of St. Paul’s—a parish that forms and sends faithful leaders into the world.

St. Paul’s is a strong and dynamic parish, and I am confident in the strength of our ministry together during this time of transition. Together, with God’s help, we will continue to grow in faith, hope, love, and service as we look toward the future.

Please join me in giving thanks for Erin’s ministry among us, and in praying for her, her family, and the people of Holy Innocents as they begin their journey together.  Her final Sunday at St. Paul’s will be Sunday, January 11, 2026.  We will celebrate and thank her for her ministry here that day.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Peace,
Noah
