Outreach is an essential part of St. Paul’s. We try to live out our Jesus’ command to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, care for the sick, and love our neighbor as ourselves.
Pursuing Antiracism and Social Justice, we work to come up with positive solutions to address larger questions about injustice in society and around the world.
Environmental Sustainability is a part of our work of caring for God’s good creation.
We also host partner groups from the wider community who share in our work and values.
Jesus told people that the greatest commandment was to love God, and to “love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:39. So, our St. Paul’s community works to love each and every one of our neighbors, and is blessed to collaborate with community and interfaith partners in sharing God’s love with the world. You can learn about some of these partnerships below!
Read about the connection between St. Paul’s and our Turkish friends at the Turkish Cultural Center in Mt. Lebanon Magazine.
Our Sustainability Committee works to spread knowledge about stewardship of God’s creation through educational programming for the St. Paul’s Community, as well as partnering with the greater Mt. Lebanon community.
In addition, we work to live into our values of creation stewardship thorough our own environmental impact. Over the past several years, we have reduced our energy consumption through building updates, such as:
In addition, St. Paul’s is the first church in the Southwestern Pennsylvania area to “go solar.” Our array of 51 rooftop solar panels were dedicated and blessed with holy water. For the first full month of use, we saw a 70% reduction in the amount of purchased electricity – and some months, the panels could even make more electricity than we use, generating rebates from our electricity provider.
We serve our broader community in a variety of ways, through financial support as well as in-person volunteering. We provide monthly packed lunches for several community partners, prepare and serve meals for the homeless at Neighborhood Resilience Project and Bethlehem Haven, and collect groceries for the South Hills Food Pantry.
We financially support many outreach ministries through funds raised at major outreach dinners each year, and direct giving from individual parishioners.
St. Paul’s offers meeting space to many non-profit organizations. Call the church office to learn more about community outreach and support groups or to inquire about available meeting space.
We livestream our services on Sundays at 10:45 am. Click here to watch on Facebook.

Social Justice
As part of our baptismal covenant, we promise to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.”
St. Paul’s engages in vibrant and desperately-needed outreach to make an immediate difference in the lives of people in crisis as a way of living out this promise. In pursuing social justice, we also work to come up with positive solutions to address larger questions about injustice in society. To use the old metaphor, the difference between outreach and social justice is the difference between giving a person a fish to eat for a day, and teaching the person to fish to allow them to eat for a lifetime.
