SUMMARY:Adult Forum: Learning about the life of Charles Henry Brent with parishioner Geoff Hurd
DESCRIPTION:Charles Henry Brent was a priest and bishop in the Episcopal Church. His life was a “Forest Gump-like” adventure\, taking him all over the world and meeting and working with some of the most heralded people of his era. He ministered in the black slums of Boston where his Bishop was Phillips Brooks. He was the first Episcopal Missionary Bishop of the Philippines where he cooperated with American Governor William Howard Taft. Brent was then made the Chief-of-Chaplains of the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War I\, serving under General John Pershing\, whom he had earlier baptized. Brent is commemorated in the Episcopal Church’s Liturgical Calendar on March 27. Please join us as parishioner Geoff Hurd shares about this fascinating life story.

SUMMARY:Blessing of the Animals
DESCRIPTION:8:45 AM (in church) and 12 Noon (on lawn) \n During the Annual Blessing of the Animals\, we invite all companion animals to join their people at the 8:45 service in the church.  Bring your animal… and invite a friend to bring theirs too! During this service\, we will also have a place where you can place a photo of\, light a candle or write the name\, in memory of a pet that has died.  If you’d like to come later\, or feel your animal companion isn’t quite up to joining us during a service\, we also offer a blessing on the front lawn of the church after our 10:45 service at 12 noon. This special event is held to mark the Feast of St. Francis. Francis is remembered for his great love for animals and the environment. By reflecting on his legacy\, we are reminded of the beauty of the world we all share\, and to care for the earth\, our common home.

SUMMARY:Adult Forum: Faith and Politics
DESCRIPTION:Led by The Rev. Noah Evans\, Rector \n in the Undercroft \n Join us for a special Sunday Forum as our Rector\, The Rev. Noah Evans\, leads a thoughtful and timely conversation on Faith and Politics. As we navigate the current complicated political climate\, consider our responsibilities as citizens and people of faith. This forum will explore how our Christian identity informs our engagement with the public square. We’ll reflect on questions such as: What does the Episcopal Church teach about political involvement? How can we speak across political differences while remaining grounded in love and truth? What does it mean to follow Jesus in a polarized society? What is the impact of the new IRS rules that allow faith communities to endorse political candidates? This is a space for respectful dialogue and deep reflection.
